Navigating the COVID-19 pandemic

This year, RQAM took cleanliness to the next level to keep its spaces safe for tenants, employees and all visitors alike with Marina Bay Financial Centre, Marina Bay Link Mall and One Raffles Quay certified with the SG Clean quality mark.

Dedication towards Safety and Health

The management’s dedication to safety and health implementation, good practices and management systems was recently recognized by the Ministry of Manpower as well, with the following accolades being presented by Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Council: the WSH Performance (Silver) Award for RQAM, and the WSH Council Safety and Health Award Recognition for Projects (SHARP) Award for both MBFC and ORQ.

Making a difference within the community

Back in August, RQAM staff volunteered in grocery packing for 300 less-privileged families. This was in partnership with the Life Community Services Society, an organization that provides assistance to over 1,000 children and families from low-income and vulnerable backgrounds.

Technological advancements, environmental partnerships other milestones

In recognizing its responsibility to maintain healthy spaces for everyone within and beyond the precinct, RQAM has also embarked on several green efforts in a bid to reduce its properties’ carbon footprints with sustainable solutions.

To increase recycling rates, RQAM collaborated with ActiveSG for a shoe collection drive across Marina Bay Link Mall, Marina Bay Financial Centre and One Raffles Quay. The collected sports shoes would be recycled into construction materials for environmentally-friendly sports infrastructures, while reducing landfill mass and material wastage.

In addition, Marina Bay Financial Centre and One Raffles Quay saw a new, eco-friendly addition to everyday life — an Eco-Waste Digester which converts any leftover food waste into high-grade compost to be reused in planted areas within the precinct.

In order to cut down on single-use plastics, F&B outlets in RQAM’s properties are also partnering up with Muuse, an innovative borrow-and-return system for reusable takeaway containers. To date, a couple of familiar F&B establishments in the portfolio like SaladStop and HeyBo are part of the @Muuse drive.

Staff engagement through workshopping

To overcome the limitations caused by the pandemic and work from home restrictions, many virtual events and HR workshops have also been organized by RQAM throughout this year, in conjunction with tenants, in order to keep staff and office community engaged.

The community participated in an enriching talk about Managing Stress, Anxiety and Fatigue with PULSE TCM Clinic, to learn tips and tricks about how diets, Traditional Chinese Medicine strategies and acupressure exercises can alleviate common symptoms of stress.

An enriching series of Workplace Health and Well-being group-learning workshops were also held to enrich RQAM staff about a supportive working community, boosting team morale and chemistry within the organization.

Earlier this December, RQAM also teamed up with Terra, a social enterprise promoting sustainability and eco-education, to organise a virtual Christmas Upcycling Workshop. During this fun-filled session, participants repurposed everyday household materials into endearing Christmas decorations that can be appreciated and enjoyed by all ages.
